To be eligible for an extension on your most recent application, the following statements must all be TRUE.

In the winter semester:

1. You were a full-time university student
   
   
2. You applied for assistance through the Province of Nova Scotia
   
   
3. Your application for student assistance was processed & an assessment completed
   
   
• if your Pre-study report was not processed before your winter semester ended, your application for extension will be assessed for Canada Student Loan only.
  
  
4. You will be taking a course/courses or doing a clinical, placement or internship beginning within two months of your winter semester ending
   
   
5. If you are taking a course(s), it will be credited to the same program you were taking during the Winter semester
   
   
6. If you are taking courses, you will be:
   
   
   • attending the same university as you did in the winter semester
     
     
   • OR, attending classes at a different university, using a letter of permission from your 'home' university.
     
     If you are on a letter of permission:
     
     
   • You will be eligible for an extension only if your home university agrees to sign the loan document.
     
     
   • You will be required to send a copy of your letter of permission as part of your application.
     
     
   • If your university will not sign the document, you may be able to apply on a new application. See the confirmation of summer sessions for the course load requirements.
